worn out clutch?
the clutch on my stock nissan 240sx is feeling pretty loose even when i bought it a while back, i heard it was misadjusted or worn out, does anyone know how to adjust it if that is the case? i dont want to get a brand new one if i dont have to....

to adjust behind the clutch pedal there is a threaded bar that is cotter pined and threaded in just loosen up the nut holding it tight then turn the bar/rod to adjust any ?'s P.M. me =]

^^^ what he said is absolutely correct so please dont take my post as meaning longer clutch life what I was telling you was simply how to adjust it. On the contrary your master cylinder could be going bad. So if you adjust the pedal up it could pull that bar/rod out more making less slack so when you push it down it engages better

If it's about the actual clutch (as I mentioned in the deleted post), it's to my knowledge that the clutch wears down just as a brake pad does. It's not something that you can adjust to make it last longer. If it's worn down to a certain point where it's useless, then you have to swap it out. I don't think it's that pricey either, but replacing it is labor intensive. GL again with the clutch swap.

well when i press on the clutch is a very soft smooth feel... the last owner said he got the clutch replaced but was refurbished, and said all i needed to do was re-adjust it... maybe he pulled a fast one on me. :| but other then the soft feel i cant really tell you much else about it....
