worn out clutch?

the clutch on my stock nissan 240sx is feeling pretty loose even when i bought it a while back, i heard it was misadjusted or worn out, does anyone know how to adjust it if that is the case? i dont want to get a brand new one if i dont have to.... they dont come cheap especially with labor charges...

^^^ what he said is absolutely correct so please dont take my post as meaning longer clutch life what I was telling you was simply how to adjust it. On the contrary your master cylinder could be going bad. So if you adjust the pedal up it could pull that bar/rod out more making less slack so when you push it down it engages better

Lol sorry boost, I thought I was talking out of my ass when I was talking about the clutch.

To the OP: please differentiate between if what you're feeling has to do with the clutch pedal or the actual clutch in the transmission.

If it's about the actual clutch (as I mentioned in the deleted post), it's to my knowledge that the clutch wears down just as a brake pad does. It's not something that you can adjust to make it last longer. If it's worn down to a certain point where it's useless, then you have to swap it out. I don't think it's that pricey either, but replacing it is labor intensive.

GL again with the clutch swap.

Shit you live in Texas, I would replace it for you and be humble with the labor price =] but seeing where you live I doubt I can help you =/

well when i press on the clutch is a very soft smooth feel... the last owner said he got the clutch replaced but was refurbished, and said all i needed to do was re-adjust it... maybe he pulled a fast one on me. :| but other then the soft feel i cant really tell you much else about it....
