CAS wire keeps frying!!!

A friend of mines recently purchased a swapped car and is now having some electical problems.

The black wire closest to the firewall on top of the CAS plug keeps frying on the 2nd turn of the key.

Does anyone know where the blackwire goes to?

It is currently grounded on a hacked harness but I was hoping someone can lead me in the right direction from the oem harness. I can't seem to find anything in regards the fsm and the individual wires.

The harness is extremely hacked/modified. The original owner rewired all the fuses boxes and battery to the trunk.

Thanks for any input!

i would tell him to grab a new harness and work from that. you'll be finding more and more gremlins later down the line, it'd be cheaper and easier to do it once

Thanks for the quick reply.

Its pretty straight forward and everything is as it seems according to all the diagrams. But the one problem is that theres no diagrams that are specific enough for the wires coming out of the CAS.

Do you know where teh black wire runs back to?

What engine/car? I'm assuming S13 with a redtop? I have a diagram that I made for the redtop upper engine harness. Please use my username when referencing this diagram.

Make sure you're giving the ECU good power and ground - the wire you're talking about is probably the +12v lead to the CAS, which could be shorted out somewhere along the harness.
