So out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone could attest to or cast as myth the rumor of a red top having weaker or worse rods/pistons than a black top? Its a noob question, and I'll accept the flaming I guess, but I'm not asking for a list of threads in spec difference, I know how to use the ol' google, im asking for real-life zilvian application. what have YOU experienced with the two? Just curious to hear people's stories.

No, the bottom end is basically the same throughout S13-S15. Mainly the oil pick up changed

Weakness comes from comparing older, more mileage engine (redtop) vs a newer potentially less mileage engine (blacktop).
