I love cheap tune ups....

Went to Canadian Tire and got myself some cheap tuneup stuff. My car didnt need anything really, so I got 4 liters of Q.S. oil ($8)
a filter ($5)
Spark plugs (Bosch platinum $15)
and a new air filter ($9)

after doing the oil, filter, plug and air filter change....

the mileage got suddenly way better, the engine was WAY more smooth and quiet, revvs up more freely and sounds nicer at idle (the oil change quieted the ticky ticky engine sound)

I know its common sense but the mileage increase amazed me, and I suppose that you probably never notice your mileage getting worse over time and the engine being rougher, etc since it happens so slowly, although to change all these things at once...what a difference!

Ya, I did my first engie oil change on my new rebuilt engine. DAmn there was a difference. It was only like less than 1000 miles but i had oil lying around so figured I'd baby the car a bit...

I need help getting my engine's rpm to stop flucating. I'm not sure what everyone keeps on saying about that avs or wutever that needs cleaning.

Me, just installing a 45 dollar K&N air filter felt an improvement. I feel each oil change as well.

I like to "tune up" (which means get under the hood and mess around cleaning plugs, etc) once a month.

As they say...Makes for a happy engine.

The cheapest tune up is an Italian tune up... my personal favorite.

Oh yes, I love the Italian tune up. I try to get a couple of those in daily. Certainly helps the valve bowls.

Redline your engine, romp the f u c k out of it on an entrance ramp.

Good old ITU.

Hit a solid 90 in 3rd and then brake down to 65 to flow in...also trues the brakes.

It only takes a few seconds and does not stick out in the crowd. Watch for ASH comming from your tailpipes, then it is working for ya..

It does help at times.

Get on the pipes.

My car seems to get more fuel efficient with age. Maybe all that carbon build up increases compression.
