![]() THis question probably has been asked many times before...
I was all for building a JDM Sil-80 with a front end conversion.. But I read something about turboing a KA24 and getting alot of of HP... so I guess I'm asking are there real big draw backs or pluses to Turboing a KA vs a SR20? Money would be an aspect I'm looking into... and of course HP and TQ are important too... but the import cost for a struggling college student is alot of money. So right now, It's between getting an Imported SR20 >> Which comes with some draw back... cause you never know what your gonna get... then the extra money to pour in to clean up. Or a get a Ka24de (cause I'm rolling stock 1990, i.e. Ka24e) which I know what I'm getting for alot less... and more control over turbo, boost, and what not... Or am I just a fool and should just go JDM like I planned....? But then again never even thought about a CA... Help Me to many motors, not enough money :/ |

Go SR if you are going to swap and want turbo. My friend turbo'd his KA and it didn't last long even being the baby'd engine it was, 38K miles. The SR is just built better internally and will handle the stress of a turbo much better than the KA, IMO.
