Question Mini Subwoofer location ideas

I just got a Kenwood "WooX" powered subwoofer for my fastback

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vkMORl9...sp?i=113WA62RC

It's quite small(about 15"x8"x4.5"), and I'm wondering if anyone has a similar subwoofer or some creative ideas on where to place it.

Limitations:
-Cannot cut into cargo room at all. This car is my daily driver and I need all the cargo space I can get
-I don't really have back seat passengers ever, so that area is good, but I cannot remove body panels/seats because I am in a stock class at autoX
-Not a place that is prone to rattles

Oh, does anyone know if the place in the backseat where passengers could put their elbow is separate from the rest of the panel, because that would be perfect.(If anyone knows what I'm talking about me= )

-Matt

EDIT: I see now that my post is completely worthless without some pictures, I will take some in the morning and this might make sense

OK, now I have some pictures.

Here is the WooX:

Here it is next to a cd, its really small for a powered subwoofer and makes fairly good sound, I will write a review when I'm done

Ok, I want to know if the panel in the center is removable

Because it looks like a perfect fit:

Why do it from just one side? errrr, that seems like it'd ruin the quality of sound, but yeah, that is a good place fitment wise.

I always thought bass was omnidirectional and it didnt matter where you placed it Oh well, I'm not really looking for perfect sound, just a low end that my 4x6s lack.

it is.. especially on a basic system like yours. sound quality and autocross dont mix. its an oxymoron. for sound quality you want something like www.concertcar.com (really check it out Scott's car is simply amazing)

if its that small and sturdy as I expect just bolt it in the rear passenger are as close to a corner as possible. and pile stuff on top of it lol. I've got an infinity Basslink in my trunk. I just thrw crap on top of. but i also dont carry a spare tire or much of anything that used to resemble my trunk.....

i can't believe that thing goes down to 35Hz, i'd be really interested in a review because i'd like to do something similar. that panel in the rear seat is all one piece (i'm pretty sure). it looks like it would fit nicely right behind the driver's seat on the floor. maybe you could bolt it down so it's harder to steal, and tucking it in a corner like that would ampifly the bass (which is omnidirectional btw)

steeles, what do you think of your basslink, that was another thing i was looking into? and your link doesn't work.

Yeah, I think 35Hz is all hype, but it does amazingly well for its size. My original hope was to be able to mount it behind one of the front seats on the floor, but its just barely too deep for that because I have to have my seats all the way back(I'm 6'4"). I might just remove one of my rear speakers and mount it there, they **** me off anyway.

I was thinking you could install it on the floor behind a seat too. Since you sit back a bit, why not turn it so the speakers face forward?

Well, I went out and tore up the car looking for places to mount and that panel in the rear is all one piece and there isn't really anything solid behind it to mount it to.

Here is my next idea:

upright between the seats. it just barely fits, and I can't recall ever needing that space when trying to fit cargo in the car. it doesn't interfere with my elbow during shifts, but might rattle the center console(?) What do you guys think?

Here is a side shot, as you can see there isn't really room to jam it down behind the seats, its just barely too big

I love it its just the thing to round out my system. hits pretty deep and hard for what it is. even with a weekends worth of clothing piled on top of it

crap sorry about the link... hmm i know scotts on NICO and sometimes FA I'll try and find a new link.. although the car is being totally redone right now so maybe the site is too.

Just a stab in the dark, but, would it fit on the passenger side up under the dash? Would there be enough room to wedge it in there and maybe use something to secure it there?

Put it in the center all the way back in the hatch and strap it down. Maximum bottom there.

Point it forward..

I am making a sub that uses the spare tire well. Takes up no room...juist, the spare is now optional!

For racing, I fold down the seats anyway and load my back tires , rims and all. Make the change at the track.

I keep nothing in that well. The donut is a waste of time

kandyflip445 -- I gave serious thought to that location, but it kills passenger footroom. I also took out the glovebox, but the hole was the wrong shape to fit it in there.

Bill Roberts -- I don't really want to use the spare tire well. I almost had to use my spare tire once, and feel safer with it there in the future. Oh, and water seems to find its way into there alot (I guess my exterior duct tape isn't as water tight as I thought) I would love to just bolt it down in the hatch somewhere, but I have this perfect rubbermaid box that fits the hatch without sliding. I take that box on all long trips and to autoX, it has all my tools, fluids, jackstands, etc.

Thanks everyone for their help brainstorming. I am still a little stumped as to where I should put it(or I am far too picky)

just take the back seat out, more storage room and its held in my all of 4 bolts. the only thing i dont like is that the carpet is attached to the seat, so the entire back of my car is metal. (i didnt do this to be hardcore race y0, i was really tired of driving all my friends around "sorry, cant drive you, only have 2 seats") back on the subject, when the bottom of the seat is out, theres 2 nice little dents, could sit it there.

nope, subs on the roof is getting played out

But seriously, I am putting waaaayyy too much thought into this. It sounded pretty good just laying on the floor in the passenger seat, and all 4 plugs quickly disconnect for autocross. Therefore, I will just leave it on the floor. This way I can move it around if I need to, and not have to worry about fabbing brackets for the perfect location.
