momo thunder

i found a site that is selling this wheel for about 120 dollars shipped, i know its a good deal but what do you guys think of the wheel.
im going to put it in my S13 fast back it is red

It looks kinda cheap.

I got a Grant 771 formula GT wheel with a $21 hub for a grand total of $79.65. It has a black hand-stitched vinyl grip with polished aluminum spokes. 13" diameter, 3" dish including styling sleeve. I added some rosin from a baseball rosin bag and gave the wheel more traction than it already had.

Don't know why you would say its cheap, Momo and Sparco are good quality products. I could understand calling it cheap if it was made by APC, Isotta, or HP racing.

Are you getting a group buy deal on that steering wheel to get it so low? For the price I would grab that quick then, Nopi sells it for $200+. Hell I don't even think I could get it that low even with my team and company discount.

I'm sorry if we have a different opinon. I think it looks cheap, this particular wheel, and you think otherwise. I will honor your opinion and take it for face value so please honor mine. He asked for opinions and I gave it. I don't run with the crowd.

There are other wheels on that site, from momo, which look a lot better at around $179. So again, I never doubted quality, craftsmanship, or otherwise pertaining to MOMO or SPARCO, just this wheel.

autozone sells pimp ass rubber and steel ones for 20 bucks and hub kits for like 15, I love mine, it kicks the stock one's ass for 35 bucks.

That's what I got, well at least a cheap hub. The wheel was a little over $50. Well worth it though.

yeah, autozone has pilot steering wheels that look exactly alike to some momo's and sparco's. does anybody have one of those, or an autozone for that matter? will their cheap hub kit work, or will i have to actually get a momo or something?

Oh gosh, you're complaining about a Momo's quality while using a Grant wheel on your car? Come on... my 10 year old Momo wheel(s) have better fit and finish than a New In Box grant!!
I'm sorry, I just find it incredibly ironic that a Grant owner/user should say that a momo's craftsmanship (even) looks shoddy. (I certainly didn't need to add "baseball rosin" {did you mean resin?} for added "traction" on my Momo!)

In any case, that wheel looks like an *excellent* deal to me. I've also done business with LTB before, and they've been great to work with.

You know, it looks kinda cheap to me too. If you like it though, who cares what I [we] think. In any case, the price is right. As far as style though, its not my choice.

Steering wheel is nice.. CF Look panel on the front looks cheesy, and cheap. Buy it, and ditch the CF panel.

The overall design looks nice, but I would get one that had a normal finish instead of a CF one. Unless of course your interior has some type of CF trim.

Go for it...dont like the carbon fiber too much...but that isnt a good enough reason not to get it for that price

HAHaHa...who in the hell are you to tell me about quality when you don't even know me or my tastes. BTW, as a pitcher for a southern texas college for 3 years, I think I know what a ROSIN bag is. Look it up on google, I bet you feel a little bad now. Obviously not a sports fan.

Anyways, as I said before and will reiterate my point, I was speaking MY opinion on only this steering wheel in particular and not the companies who make them and such. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with a grant wheel but I did not. I do not share the opinion of the "CROWD or so to speak, I have my own. I am no one's tool and don't wish to be one for anyone (of course, the government owns us all!).The grip was there, I just have very sweaty palms and used the rosin to increase grip. I drive SCCA courses here in Texas and need it badly, the grip that is. Irony deals no card here as I have a momo in my S14 and the grant in my S13 and feel that regardless of name, they have the same rugged quality. You need to read that I said it was cheap looking and not cheaply made and understand the difference.

If you don't like my opinion, then too bad. Deal with it, build a bridge and get over it and move on. Grow up and quit flaming for an opinion, poor guy. Why must wisdom and experience justify to ignorance? Next please...

haha I gotta remember that. Well when I posted I was saying it like a question wondering why you said it, not meaning it like it was better quailty,etc. etc. of the momo or the grant.

Heck if you spent alot less then someone else and it out performs or works better for you, I'd give you a thumbs up and asked you if you can get me one too hehe.
Like you said, everyone is entitled to their own opinon. Never tried Grant myself, only a Momo and sparco one have I had good experince with. Stay away from Isotta tho, all those wheels feel cheap and grip just sucks with them for me, even with $80 racing gloves that my friend let me use.

MOMO is NOT cheap, but it does LOOK cheap. . IMO, it's because of the fake carbon fiber center. . if it was real carbon fiber, I suspect it'd look cheap. .

But I'd stick with a MOMO wheel. . awesome wheels. . I'm fond of the Millenium. and uhm. . one other I can't think of haha

Agreed w/ others re: the CF not looking "nice" on the wheel... I'd say take it off and run the wheel with a standard horn button.

Steering wheels are purley in the eye of the beholder, much like seats. The fabric of the Corbeau CR1 may not tickel your fancy, where as someone else loves it and hates your Sparco Fighter II.
