RB Trans Fluid

So... I'm not happy with how Amsoil MTG feels on 80 to 100 degree days Grinds a little on a hard 3rd to 5th gear change (it's also sometimes clunky on a 4th to 5th too). I'm going to switch to Redline and I'm torn between MT90, Lightweight Shockproof and or Heavy Shockproof.

Redline recommends MT90 for the Z32
Redline.au recommends Lighweight Shockproof for the GTS-T
I've also read on few skyline forums where some guys use Heavy Shockproof

Cars dynoed at 425 to the wheels...

Opinions/ Experience?

are you using the GL-4 75w-90 stuff? I love it in my SR tranny. I'm actually using it in my wife's miata, and my Jeep Cherokee too. Maybe your blocking rings are wearing?

Here's a link to the amsoil stuff...

AMSOIL - Synthetic Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 (MTG)

It is Amsoil's high performance GL-4.

Yah, that's the same shit... huh. Nothing of mine seems to have any trouble with it and the 240 only gets hard track use. Hope the other oil works out for ya, but I bet your blocking rings are a little worn.

Thats what I was gonna say, if AMSOIL is making your shit run worst, that means it needs a rebuild. You can run crappier oil that will hide the symptoms but in the end, the tranny is still going bubye.

I wouldn't replace the entire assembly. Just get you some new blocking rings, bearings, and seals. Good as new!

Thanks, I'm starting to lean toward the heavy or the lightweight.
