Headlight problems~ need help plz

K so im sure the answer is out here sonewgere but i cant seem to find it. I have a 91 coupe, chukie front with a 600k hid conversion... My problem aside from the fact both headlights go down and only 1 pops back up is that they don't turn on or illuminate anymore period n they just worked last nite. The bulbs r good because they r brand new. I have pulled relays n swapped with a friends to see if that wad a possibility n nothing. All fuses ate good. All conections are good. I'm at a loss. I even pulled the switch from the Colum n Followed this complete write up and nothing.....

how to fix your headlight problems : 240sx General Discussion

any ideas plz let me know!

Thanks!

I had the same issue. First was the motor on the passenger side not going up, but it would retract downward. Solution: turned out to be a fried wire right by the motor itself and into the circuit board inside. Second was no hid's. Solution: No idea, just pulled everything and reconnected the system, checking all grounds and power.

So check the motor wires and reconnect your hid's? Good luck man.

Did you check the grounds for the motors?

I had a similiar problem where one headlight would go down but not up and the other would go up not down. I replaced the combo switch on the steering column, the switch next to the column, all the relays, and nothing, i finaly changed the motors and got it working, with just a little glitch.

I kinda have kinda the same problem but mines are stock and both do come up and go down with no problem but the headlights are the only thing that doesn't come on. rear ones do, cluster, and all the other light but the headlight.
checked all the fuses and switched them around and all that fun stuff but nothing yet ill try taking the switch off and cleaning it or trying someone else's and see what happens and ill let you know

your gonna have to start tracing the power path. start at the headlight plug and work towards the switch. if you have no power to the headlight plugs, then check the relays, no power to the relays, check the fuses, no power to the fuses, check the switch.no power to the switch, you have a break in the wiring. good luck

Ended up being the headlight/turn signal switch. Turn signals still worked as didthe rest of the running lights( just not the head lights). Decided to pocket one at the junkyard only because it was nice and had no sun damage, swapped it on and everything worked again
