dual cam setup on sr?
ok so you guys kno that you can get a good bump in power on a ka if you swap out the intake cam for the exhaust cam and then rotate 4 teeth to left... right, so is it possible to do this on an sr and get good gains, by using 2 intake cams?

I don't think it does, I have yet to hear of someone having success with it.
If you want to mess around with your cams, wait until you can afford some aftermarket cams and the proper springs/lifters. Just Do it right the first time, Your car will have more power and reliability if you take the time to put it together proper rather than doing these little *fixes or upgrades* that end up causing more troubles in your car because most people don't have the mechanical experience or knowledge to know it can affect other systems/things in your vehicle. -You are never supposed to replace a cam without installing the matching lifters/springs or your going to run into more trouble. Never Put a new cam on used lifters, or vice versa. |

yea the exhaust cam is a 240 duration, and the lift is 9.2 i think, and the cams in a SR16VE N1 engine are 248 duration and 10 lift. so i dunno, seems like it would work, i would get it tuned for it too, cause at the same time im putting a 99 g20 60mm throttle body on it, so i dunno

Don't do it, you wont feel a gain at all on the sr with such a minor bump is duration. You barley feel it on the ka in the top end cause it's n/a and every little thing counts. Just buy some bc 264/264 cams and call it a day! Stock springs will work with those, might have to watch out for breaking rocker arms though

The 26x durations should be good, It's the 27x durations when you gotta start changing out springs and retainers. When I was running my bc 264 before I reshimmed the shims I kept breaking rocker arms haha. Then again I was revving my Sr out to 8200
