starter turning but not cranking motor over.

so I got the starter issue figured out now when I go to turn the key I hear the starter spinning but the motor doesn't crank with it

so, make sure your wiring is straight, then get a new starter........ jesus christ.

had a similar issue a while back, possible that the gear wheel on the starter is loose. although the starter itself is working/spinning, the gear wheel with the teeth that inserts onto the flywheel teeth may have somehow gotten loose/broke and isn't spinning along with the starter. I had to get a new starter...damn cheap ass autozone pos starters...good thing for the lifetime warranty, let me know if that's what happened to your starter

^ solenoid is shot. take it off and test the starter. if the solenoid isn't working the starter will spin but not engage

have someone outside with a pipe and a hammer hit the starter repeatedly while you crank the motor. if it turns on...well use common sense from here
