Have ya'll check the rubber bumpers? It should fix it. The outer bumpers, the big one like (o), the inner circle bumper should not be flushed with the outer. I thought it was the locking mechanism before, but new bumpers fixed it.

Trunk Rear Bumper #01658-00881
Inner Bumper #90878-58J10
Outer Bumper #84840-65F00

Check those at www.nissanparts.org

It's most likely the trunk helper springs. Those two horizontal overlapping black bars at the cab-most part of your trunk. Try stuffing a piece of styrofoam between them, that should fix it.

check your rear deck lid that houses your speakers too. Mine used to rattle like a bitch and there wasnt anything loose really on it but it still rattled...so i stuffed a few pieces of cordboard between it and it fixed it
