s14 temp gauge issue

hey quick question guys. i replaced my radiator today and i fnally got the system fully bleed after messing around with it all day, now my temp gauge bounces around and goes to cold when im driving along. im probably gonna replace the sensor tomorrow but any ideas on what else it could be. when the radiator broke, the top hose flew off and spewed hot coolant everywhere which im wondering if it could've gotten on the connector and may be causing an issue. i checked the harness in the driver's side wheel well and noticed one of the wires was starting to make contact with the tire but hadn't chewed all the way through. i rewrapped that wire and it didn't make any noticable difference. it was a white wire with a blue stripe. gauge also jumps when i hit a bump. its an s13 sr20 swap btw. thanks in advance.
