changing the clutch
Does anyone knows how much is usual price on that?So far i got around $300
Is it a good deal? What do you think is it better(cheaper)to get the clutch separately(i found exedy one on ebay for $112+shipping),and pay just for labor? Thanx ![]() |

ACT clutch kits go for around 300, not sure about exedy though. If you're looking to just replace the clutch disc, you might want to consider changing the pressure plate, pilot bushing and throw out while you're in there.

just do it yourself, it's really not that hard... just do a bit of research, gather up a couple of friends, and set aside a weekend. i just did mine... saving money feels good!

i work at a tranny shop and it will run you a few hundred bucks just because the fact of having to pull the trans and all that, if you had a lift for me to work on i'd do it for you for cheaper then whatever you'd pay anywhere else.

The hardest part of replacing the clutch is just bringing down the transmission. Everything else requires just the right tool. Took me 6 hours the second time around, by myself in my garage but I only had to replace the pressure plate and disc.

Gawd tranny sucks...i blew my KA tranny...well didnt know bout it till after i replaced the damn clutch with the usual exedy ebay stock replacement. Put another tranny in, didnt realized...forks bent...dropped it again...put it back up. CLips go bad so fork keeps coming undone....so drops the tranny again. I swear if i ever get another drip of either tranny fluid or brake fluid...id kill who ever drops it on me!!! But enough with my rambling...with a lift and not getting the flywheel re-surfaced...it can be done in...2-3 hrs with help. If you plan on getting the flywheel resurfaced...it all depends on how long it takes them *usually a day* God i got this whole shiet memorized i think i can do a write up one of these days.

Grease:
1) do you need a specialty grease for throwout and pilot bearings? 2) how much grease do you apply and where?
