Neighbor's car rolled out of their driveway into my car. Need shop/insurance help.

Haven't dealt with shops/insurance before so looking for some advice. Neighbor's car rolled out of their drive way into our parked car. Bashed in the drivers side and pushed it into the curb and bent the passenger side wheels in a bit. Car unfortunately cant be driven safely.

The shop we had it towed to took it to refuses to do their own estimate and is waiting on the insurance company to send an agent out and provide their own estimate. They said they honor the insurances quote and if anything is found during repair they will let the insurance company know. That just sounds like if they miss anything it will be another week's delay to get our car fixed. Which sounds like a load of crap, it took almost a week just to get the car towed to the shop.

Should I find another shop who will do their own estimate and then compare it to the insurance? I don't trust the insurance's estimate at all....
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated!

On that note, any reputable shops down in San Diego that do amazing work?(money ain't a factor as insurance will be covering it)?

Take it to a shop of your choosing. If their insurance agent is taking too long to assess the damage contact your insurance and let the know what is happening and see if they can help.

Thanks, yeah I am very close to bringing it to a different shop. The hard part is the car will have to be towed. I just cant believe the shop told me they won't do their own estimate. The insurance agent won't know what is going on under the car just by looking at it, they need to get it on a lift and do a thorough inspection.

Yep, have a bunch of pictures - other party claimed full responsibility (car was parked, I wasn't even driving). I just find it odd that the shop won't do their own estimate and will just take the insurance's word on the estimate. Is that normal?

My car rolled out of my driveway once. Luckily there were no cars passing by and no parked car there to back into.

One time I jacked the rear end and forgot to chock the front wheels. My newfound threewheeler rolled down the driveway (the steepest driveway in Florida I might add.) Luckily I was able to hop in and apply the brakes before it could careen into the plot of trees on the other side of the road.
