Moonshaker / LS1 sil80

About a year ago, this car was sr20det powered, stock angle, etc. Typical 240. This isn't my car, by the way. (Though I wish it was), it belongs to a fellow Jacksonville resident named Alex. You can find him on Instagram under @GoldenArm_Kid or for any questions just PM me.

So before I met him, he bought the LS1 and that's pretty much it. He was going through welding school and didn't have too much time or money. (Story of our lives), but now he's sick of dreaming of it completed. So we all got to work. (Freddy, my boyfriend is really the brains behind all of this. He knows more than anyone I know about motors and drifting, and has built and owned too many motors and cars to mention.) And me? I'm here to help out, grasp more knowledge, and help get this drift car be known.)

The LS1 Alex bought was from a Corvette, with only 30 thousand miles. He parted out most of the car and sold the SR, in order to start his v8 swap.

Cut the front of the car off, and started to stitch weld and cover up the ac holes in the firewall.

#JustWeldIt.

First gen PBM angle kit.

So here's the current tube front status. Now waiting to drop the motor in the upcoming weekend. Also need to fab the brackets for the oil cooler as well as the power steering coolers.

Lucked out and found a local deal on an enjuku cage for $400, which we installed the same night.

Made some panels out of thin aluminum to cover up the giant holes.

And also extended the lower control arms by 30mms.

Then on to Freddy's specialty, wiring. (His favorite)

Tail lights, brakes, fuel pump, fuel sender harness...

Also decided to order these led bricks to do a similar yet different headlight design.

This car will be up and running faster than most builds. However, right now we're still waiting for some parts to come in, drop the motor in, finish some wiring and minor fab work, get it running, and then pull it apart for interior paint.

Will have more updates all within the next few weeks. Getting a T56 trans and ACT clutch this weekend.

It's the Ford Grabber blue. Not sure on specifics as in where it was bought, but if you want to know just shoot me a message and I'll remember to find out.

Mocking up the headlights and as we speak.

Also, if anyone wants to see the photo updates more conveniently or generally are interested in drift builds and photography, please take a minute to like my facebook like page called Daphotos

Paint looks great, as does the wiring. Head light looks cool but execution/mounting would make it better. Keep it up though, I really like the headlight idea

Headlights look good, but as said could be better fitted. But all in all should look sweet.

They were fitted good, but sadly are not tall enough so it looks little off.. also there's nothing holding the hood up (pins ) so the right side of the hood is a tad lower which makes it seem like its crooked.
Alsooo, they are not in final position as they will come off the car so a few things can get sprayed.

LEDs look kind of cool. You should see if you could incorporate the clear covers in front of them to finish them off and protect them.

Attempted to put dual projector lenses over the led light bars.. didnt look to good. So we ended up pushing the bars in more so they dont stick out as much. Looks better now
Also waiting on a massive load from russel for an fittings/stainless lines to hook up the fuel system/oil/power steering coolers. And fire it up soon. Sort of at a standstill till those come in.

**UPDATE**
I (freddy)) ended up buying my girlfriends brothers z32 drift car (harveys)
Anddd..
The owner of this car got what he wanted he basically ignored me.
Funny part is the car isnt finished and I highly doubt he can finish it alone. He can barely install lcas without losing bolts. Anyways I did 90% of the work and wasted my time. Be careful who you help
On the bright side I now own a z32 thats balling.
