180sx - Front and rear wipers stopped working
Hi all,
Got an issue that has just randomly started happening. Front and rear windscreen wipers have stopped working, same for the wiper water spray on both Things I've checked - Can't hear any noise from the wiper motor - Checked fuses at footwell, all good - checked plugs and connections on the motor and the amp next to it I'll get the multimeter out tomorrow to test power to the wiper motors but It got a bit too dark so I couldn't pull off the plastics and get underneath the wipers I've also noticed that my electric mirrors don't fold/adjust and I don't think my aircon is working both of which I haven't used in a long time but when I turn aircon on while idling, I can usually notice a difference in revs but I don't hear any change. Everything else electronically works, indicators, lights, audio, heating, clock. Thinking possibly the stalk is the problem? is there any way I can test it by taking it off? cheers ********EDIT********* Alright, was able to figure out what the issue is, was bugging me too much so I got out the multimeter and tested the plug at the wiper motor and got nothing. I came across this post https://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=354495 Which kojiki88 suggested the relays behind the fuse box, couldn't see them initially because mine is reversed to the image and I was looking on the wrong side with the panel covering the other side. Mine seemed to be different to what kojiki88 suggested though, I moved 2nd from the top to the top which turned off my heater fans and voila! the wipers worked. So mine appears to be 1st - Wiper motors 2nd - Heater fans 3rd - ? 4th - ? Tomorrow when I've got light i'll test the other 2 and see if they're my mirrors and AC Last edited by strinh11; 08-29-2022 at 03:29 AM.. Reason: update |
