I'm having some engine troubles and have no clue whats causing it. I have a 91 Silvia s13, ca18det. i dropped in an engine not too long ago and it hasn't been running since. It will start up and idle really rough like its on 3 cylinders for about a min then dies. Any time i try to give it gas it dies out, unless i hold the throttle open and start it up then it will rev up to about 2000rpm and sputter and backfire. there is also gas dripping out of the exhaust and when i pull the sparkplugs out 1,2,and 4 are soaked in gas while 3 looks good.I've got new spark plugs in it and the coil packs seem to be fine. i've tried swapping them out with extras that i have and still no difference. I checked the timing on it and that was fine and i did a compression test and came up with: 161,161,158,179psi . is this alright?? Any ideas as to what might be wrong?? Also that engine that i pulle d out of it was still running fine so i dont think its anything to do with the electronics. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

i have EXACTLY the same problem, anyone have any clues or ideas as to what might be going on?
