hot brakes

i replaced a rear hub on my s13 and of course when i took the brakes off i didnt bleed them or anything, then i used some pliers to twist the piston back down a little, so the pads could fit over the rotor. ive replaced hubs a few times and always just did it this way ( i know its ghetto) but ive never had any problems. now my brakes on that hub are probably sticking and causing excessive heat (blueish rotor and smoke). what should i do to keep the calipers from sticking?
