Oil on my spark plugs

I just pulled my old 30k mile plusg for replacement and the 1, 3, and 4 cylinder plugs have a large amount oil on the wire boot, plugs threads, spark plug well, and the electrode.

I know my valve cover gasket is leaky, but I haven't done much about it. It does not burn oil and after 3k miles of driving, it still has plenty of oil so it's not a major leak.

What does this mean? I'm not sure if the electrodes have always been covered in oil or if it's just outside and it leaked down to the electrode during removal.

Actually, it appears that the spark plug gasket and the valve cover gasket are separate, which makes sense. I guess I should replace both, regardless is that is the root problem or not.

How hard is the valve cover gasket job? Something and idiot could easily do in a couple hours?

shouldn't take you more than an hour (assuming you're one of those aforementioned idiots) using all the right torque specs and stuff

I just put the new plugs in. If I have time after the brake job tomorrow, maybe I'll do the gaskets. I don't need an other surprises though (like stipped holes).
