Red face pilot beaing install, extra bearing in Flywheel??

No, I dont mean the throw out bearing, I mean the PILOT BEARING thats on the end of the input shaft, on the engine side.

The bronze ring is my new pilot bearing, I have no idea wut the bigger ring is. Also, the new ring looks like it should fit inside the bigger ring, but the old ring seems to be melted/dissolved all over the bigger ring.

Note the top/back end of the bigger ring. It looks like it was 1 piece with the flywheel.

BACKGROUND: I had a 1991 auto tranny, swapped by a "friend", and Im starting to think he might have used the auto flywheel and pocketed the used MT flywheel i gave him?

Anything helps... car stil in air at frends house :/
