Dash light does not work!

I just bought a 240 not long ago and the dash lights does not work. The owner said that it stopped working when he put a new cd player in. What could be causing the problem.

does your rear driving lights work at night ? You might want to check the fuses. I had a problem with this a while back with a short in the trunk. Kept blowing the fuse that controls the cluster lights as well as the rear driving lights

oh my god...
well lets see, there are two obvious places to start, the bulb, or the fuse.

sit down in the driver seat, next to your left leg there is a fuse panel, it might be covered up so you have to look hard, open it up and check the fuses. If you can read you might even be able to narrow down the exact fuse you should check.

now you have to help me out with a problem of mine, I was on my way ot the gas station because my fuel level was on E... my car sputtered and stalled when I was a mile away so I parked my car and went home to post on zilvia and ask if anybody knew what was wrong.

I had the exact problem with mine after i installed in my new deck. Make sure that your Illumination wire is not hooked up in the CD deck (orange wire). Then in the driver side kick panel there should be a small white box (Timing control unit, TCU). Go to your nearest junkyard and see if your can find one. Should work gauranteed.
