I like Dodge's new direction. I wish Chevy would follow suit.
Like this:

This vehicle actually started life as a new GTO, then got some serious re-work done. Now it's a NEW Chevelle SS 454. YUMMY!
Website for more pics. http://www.lateral-g.org/hrss454/

Aloha Dream Cars started building these in '04.
http://alohadreamcars.com/hrss.htm
They are the same compnay that built "The Inciner8tor", a '57 Chevy Bel-Air with 8 turbos.

I don't understand why, instead of redesigning classic muscle cars, they don't just remake the originals with modern technology.

Thats kinda how I feel about it. On one hand its really cool to see these cars come out. On the other hand the past is all these automakers have right now. Not one of them dares try something new.

New cars suck with all their coolness and good looks. Yeah, give me a car from the mid 90's with lots of miles, thats how I would do it.

finely car companies are realizeing that people don't want pansy looking box cars. everyone like muscle cars, everyone like power, no one likes poor fuel mileage, so small steps in the right direction. styleing that people have loved for years+new somewhat powerful engines re-worked for better gas and emmissions (ie hemi) = a damn fun car. oh yeah, now if they could only tack on independent suspension to that package i might have to get a new car soon instead of re-vamping an old one.

If Dodge decides to make a Challenger that looks exactly like that with an IRS and deep enough wheelwells to put 17x10s all around, I will buy it.

That challenger looks good. The front end reminds me of a Lancia Delta. Anyway I hope it does come out but if it does, Im sure it will look much more crappy like all concept to production-line stories.

The automakers are only hurting themselves by releasing these retro inspired cars. It's SOOOOOO hard for them to redesign them or do a mid life crissis update because they don't know were to go with the design. Look at the cars that started this whole thing. The beetle and the PT Criser. The bettle is finally being "redsdigned" and it looks BARELY differnt then the current design. The PT Cruiser omg the PT. There so stuck on that design that their completely offing the car all together(I believe. Being repclaced with a car on the next EVO platform.) Anyway, yea, these cars look cool. But man do they shoot them sleves in the foot bringing'em out. :hammer:

That Goat-Velle looks like shit. At least the Challenger has 2 doors, finally Dodge came to their senses. If it was in a decent price range and isn't too heavy, I'd definitely consider the Challenger, but at the moment, it's only a concept. Funny how the displacement war is back in full swing, yet with all the modern tech. like Fuel Injection and variable timing etc.

I want to see pushrods with direct injection and have companies make them SMALLER. If Audi can make a 4.0 v8 that has 400hp and roughly 400lbfeet revving to 8grand, why cant it done with a smaller sized pushrod? The new z06 motor revs to 7300 I think. I also want to see open deck blocks make their way to pushrods and I have some other ideas for "innovation" on pushrods that could make them better and only sort of like pushrods...
