hey guys, i need some help. when i put the car in reverse, and let out the clutch, the tranny area will make a grinding noise while the car starts moving backwards. this only happens in reverse. no grinds going into gear either. just only the grinding noise when the car is actually moving backwards. any ideas?

new tranny is not too expensive, you can change tranny and put new clutch in..2 birds 1 stone

does it make a loud pop sound almost? If so, most people have that problem on our cars its nothing. But grinding, i'm not sure.

I have the same problem also. I guess it's time to get a new tranny and clutch install.

fuck....

guess im gonna shop for a new tranny, maybe even a new engine (got 220k on the ticker). gonna do a compression test to determine that though. thanks for the help

Sure its not the rear calipers? Mine started doing it not that long ago. I replaced the rear pads but then both calipers started doing it so I might just replace the calipers and rotors for the hell of it to see it the noise stops.

ooh yeah i forgot.hahahah good point i had that once
pads were worn incorrectly. replaced and it was quiet
if its still nto that, trannies fucked

cant be rear pads cuz the sound comes from the tranny area.
