Datsun 620 with KA24DE swap

my names Adam, ive been a datsun freak for a while now, but until recent i had stayed to L motor swaps in all my datsuns.


Well not any more!

here is my KA24DE swap into my 1978 datsun 620

the truck at the last Canby Datsun Car Show





L20B, bored out 0.50, A87 closed chamber head, duel side draft SU's


which was fine until a friend offered me the running KA/5 speed and any bits i needed from his 240sx (he decided to tube the front and go with a V8)



so on the stand it went




The first upgrade? BRAKES and rear suspension

I swapped in rear disc brakes and new leafs with a more desirable spring rate



next? the motor!

tore down the motor






off to the machinist it went!

Bottom end got cleaned up and a fresh hone, crank got polished, top end got new valve guides/valve seals/valve grind/and a hot tank











then it was time for some pretty stuff!






BAM!





New bearings and rings




picked up an aluminum rad that will fit my truck with the KA





then i sent off all the fun stuff for powder coating at my buddies shop





and here i am today, ready to assemble my KA24DE and install it

I love the Datsun 620! Props to the ka24de swap! (I kinda wish i did this swap instead.)
