Car Factory Shitsubo

This build thread will not contain Swag or Yolo. Just a couple dudes building cars. Not following trends or trying to make a break through with fabrication.

Any ways enjoy my many many mistakes and some of the cool shit I have actually put together. (Sarcasm Warning)

A couple years ago I bought a coupe with an Sr and drove it around for a while. Got drunk and someone convinced me to do a 1uz swap. That night I sold my SR to a buddy and proceeded to get a 1uz.

I bought all new ACT clutch everything and a Collins Adapter
412

While waiting on mounts and driveshaft, I decided to my engine bay was gross and it pissed me off. So with the help of a buddy we sanded it and cut the wells out.
IMAG0382

Then primer.
IMAG0384

And Boom! Engine bay looked good and I ruined with that stupid motor. Sikky sway bar looked good though.
20130829_185043

Never had a working cable ebrake so this was my solution!
IMAG0394

Sand blasted the calipers and cleared them with Sparkles.
IMAG0400

While I am doing all of this stuff to my car to have a sweet 140hp V8. The 2nd member of Car Factory Shitsubo was living the dream. Driving around in his 180sx conversion, RHD 240sx whatever the hell you want to call it.
IMG_20140130_165831

Upgraded his already upgraded turbo and Top mount manifold.
20140219_175350

After hearing his SR after the upgrade. I made the best decision of my life. I sold the 1uz! After parting out my swap to a buddy who is building a 1uz s13, I had the money to buy an SR.Seeing as I had an s13 black top I figured I would at least upgrade a little. S14 Kouki SR20
20140207_180329

Aghh. The relief of not having to fab anything. Could now walk down to my local Walmart and buy parts. I would show you pictures of me putting in the motor but you know what that looks like.

I hate the OEM taillights and was able to get these for $40. So I installed them.
20131021_222603

I had some brand new Origin overfenders and finally got drunk enough to get the courage to cut my quarters. It was awesome because the were 90% body filler. Obviously I cut the rest but was to drunk to take pictures.

Oh ya I forgot to mention. I emailed BCL to see what the wait time was on a wing. Mr. Frost gave me some top secret information that they were coming out with a Carbon Fiber wing and I could be the first to purchase one. Doing what I do best and making bad decisions, I bought the very first one! After a long wait it arrived and boom.
20131110_172637

Time to roll it outside after putting the wing and quarters on for a bath. By that I mean I sprayed it with the hose.
20131215_155417

One more fellow I would like to introduce you to is that last member of Car Factory Shitsubo. Igor. Unlike Drew and I he has made the smart decision and bought something with AC and running. Car is sitting on a set of STR wheels and coils.
20130706_194306

After a few months he got bored and painted the wheels.
20140127_234619

Here we all our enjoying a sweet local drift event.
FOT2F0E

After seeing all of them doods sliding around motivated me to spend money on my own car. Which led to these. I already had the PBM weld on knuckles and sold them to Drew for his hatch.
20140123_203803

I didn't like the way the old dual caliper bracket spaced out the wheels so those were changed for the PBM units as well.
20140110_211913

Due to the extra angle from the cast knuckles I ordered the inner tie rods as well. Figured I would save a little money for once and instead of getting FLCA from PBM I went with some from Street Faction himself! EXT with adjustable bumpstops. Cant wait to get some bashbars from him.
20140203_090520

After installing all of the PBM stuff and control arms. It was time to run some brake lines.
20140224_214726

20140224_214754

The brake lines are attached to the frame rail and out of the way of any moving parts.
20140224_214944

Then something tragic happened. We went out to the local street races and apparently I somehow put it into Drews brain to get a 1j. At least so I am told.
He put his swap up forsale minus the downpipe and exhaust (which is for me) and well the rest is this....... Don't mind awkward Tom. He owns an FRS which should explain a lot.
20140323_161458

HAHA the moment you realized you messed up.
2014-04-18 00.04.26

Dude wasted no time and got one from Tiger Japan.
2014-04-18 00.11.06

Xcessive Mounts bought from a fellow Zilvian
20140402_203420

New junk to put on it as part of the refresh and the wait for a w58
20140402_202451

Will post more updates over the weekend.

Took a day trip and picked up a w58 from Kevin over at enjuku racing for a great price. Hope to be placing some more major orders soon with drift motion. In the next week or so the 1j is going on a Stand for some refreshing/preventative maintenance, traction control removal, and some egr block off.

Sorry for being late on the update. I have actually been working on my car. I ordered some Tomei RAS and installed them.
20140411_212144

I was not aware of having to trim the shit out of the valve cover but made it happen. Figured while the valve cover was off might as well paint it.
20140407_220107

Cleaned it up and sprayed it with some Krinkle paint. Let it dry for few minutes and stuck in the oven for about 20 minutes. Think it came out pretty good.
20140410_223151

20140416_215447

Cut the hole in my hood and installed the vent.
20140205_210947

A shot of how awesome my BCL wing is. I hope everyone hates it and it ruins their day.
20140419_152410

Pushed it outside to just look at it.
20140419_152140

Igor came over with his half ass painted wheels.
20140419_161357

Front camber seems to be on point with perfect contact patch lock to lock. We will see anyway.
20140419_161306

One more to whore it out. Wifes Jeep even makes an appearance.
20140419_161155

My car was crunched pretty good on the driver side so the wheel wells were cut out and a bar was added for strength as you can see in the above pictures. Because of this I cant run the stock relays and such in a way I feel wouldn't look like crap. Decided to run a custom chassis harness. Never done any kind of wiring other than some fans but I knew with enough time and beer. I can accomplish anything. Paid $180 for a EZ Wiring chassis harness. Its more for a hotrod but the headlight plugs are even correct.
20140306_183448

This is what I have removed so far. It really is amazing how much lighter you can make a harness compared to the factory unit.
20140425_222448

Took a break from the wiring and got tired of looking at my brand new Sparco Sprint sitting there with a stock steering wheel. Couldn't take it anymore and decided to install my Circuit Sport hub and quick release. Attached this bad boy to it. Had it for two years and never installed it. Also has Baller Bolts for extra bling.
20140421_204436

Actually works fits very well. I am only about 5'8 and wasn't sure if the deep corn would be to close. Especially seeing that I have long ass arms and short legs. Will update more over the next few days.

Seeing that my car randomly pisses me off all the time. Needed a break and went to Formula D. Loving all things white trash well here ya go.
20140508_175509-1

Seeing that everyone hates this car makes me love it. How very hipster of me. Plus the fact it made just under 1,000,000 HP is pretty badass.
20140509_110933

The tandem runs were very close as seen below.
20140509_175235
Cant see a damn thing after the key hole.

Would much rather be building something like this.
20140510_152959

This thing was ready for the kitty litter.
20140510_184853

We drank some 40s and apparently Igor couldn't handle it.
20140511_111612

Ill buy a case of beer and work on my car tomorrow. Next on the list is to put my radiator in and buy new seat rails. PBM HMIC, put my exhaust on and then run some fuel lines.

That's because its one big party. There actually wasn't any real drama in this event. Top 32 practice was amazing. Everyone just ran into each other.

uploadfromtaptalk1400348782816.jpg so finally decided to touch this thing again. Didn't really make much progress. Decided to make the jump to a single turbo and all that jazz. Toyota engineers were on lsd making this stock twins set up. Anyways, they're almost ready to come off, as is the hydrofan junk. I'll stop being lazy soon and actually put it on a stand and make some real progress on it. Timing belt, 2jz water pump, rear main...etc...

Seeing as Drew is going single turbo on the 1j. This leaves me more time to get mine running. It may not look like it but I am very picky on things are put together and the parts I use. That's why I change my mine every few weeks.

Back to my junk

I knew some people would want something that said Silvia on it and I didn't really care so it got holes drilled into it.

Installed my Isis radiator hoses.

Also got a XS Engineering downpipe (with cat delete) that I sold to Drew. This time it came with Isis Blast Pipes. If you want I can post the pointless pictures of how we all know an exhaust is installed but instead I will save you from that.

Really wished it fit like this.

My brother came and helped me at least get a jump on the wiring. So far it looks like this.....

Which may not look to impressive but I have working headlights, taillights, starter and fuel pump. Much more power than this car has had since 2010.

Will post up more as I receive more parts. If anyone has an s14 PBM HMIC kit for sale let me know!

Haven't had a lot of time recently for the 1j....but spent some time in the heat and got some work done. Went ahead and removed the stock turbos. Pulled the hydrofan out and replaced it with a 2jz water pump...much better! also removed the throttle body to hopefully soon get it shortened and remove all the traction control shit.
