S14 driveshaft question

When swapping from auto to manual, I realize that you have to have a manual s14 driveshaft.

But if the car has ABS, does it have to have the m/t s14 ABS driveshaft or is there only one for ABS and non-ABS? I don't care if I have to disable the ABS system but I really don't think I will be able to find a m/t ABS s14 driveshaft lol

If the non-ABS driveshaft fits in the s14, if you somehow disable the ABS I am fine with that.

thanks!

the abs system for the rear brakes is attach to the front of the diff. so you cant disconnect the abs. all you need is the front half of the driveshaft for the 5 speed conversion.

basically the front half is for manual which is fatter and the auto which is skinny. the second half towards the diff is for the abs or non abs.

Oh really I had no idea. So basically I need a S14 manual driveshaft, or can it be S13 manual driveshaft?

So if I can pickup a full driveshaft, I only really need the front half and I can re-use the second half of my auto s14 driveshaft (with ABS)?

This will work for SR swap correct?

You need an S14 shaft. S14 shaft = 2 piece, S13 shaft = 3 piece.

yes if you pick up a non abs just use the front part. and yes it will work with sr.

also i dont know if the s13 will work but if you get it for cheap you can try. i know you can use a s13 ka tranny on a s14 chasis and use the s14 driveshaft. so i guess you can use the s13 front shaft. again not postive.

No, you can't.

S14 chassis = S14 driveshaft. You cannot use an S13 driveshaft at all.

You cant use the S13 shaft because the center carrier isnt on the same spot as the S14 iirc.

If you don't know, don't post. Simple. Otherwise the next retard who browses driveshaft threads, even though it's beaten to death already, will follow your suggestion and then come back crying because it doesn't work and he was told wrong.
It's always better to keep quiet than to guess and assume.

Hate to revive this old thread but I've been searching and this seemed like the closest fit so I'll ask away:

I have a s13 with a s14 rear and using a stock s13 driveshaft. I want to get a one piece steel driveshaft now but on frsport there is a different length between s13\s14 non abs driveshafts. I'd assume a s13 driveshaft will still fit but does anyone have any input before I order this?
