Has anyone here seen The Wraith? It's an 80's B movie about these street racing thugs and this one guy they kill and comes back from the dead to get revenge in a badass black import looking car. Is a fun all around movie to watch just saw it again at a buddies house this weekend.

Yea! I saw that. They race people for their pink slips. That black car looked like some crazy-ass concept car. The nerd who works with the racing thugs is funny.

i think i've seen it. do they race for titles or something? and at the end the dead guy comes by on a motorcycle throws the keys to his brother? if that's the same movie, then i saw it. that car is cool but it's actually a chrysler from what i remember. i think i watched the credits and in the thank you's it showed the chrysler symbol. but i'm not totally sure about the chrysler part, i saw the movie 7 years ago :cheesy:

It was a joint venture concept with dodge/chrysler and a foreign company and I can't remember which one. It was a bad ass concept though. I loved that movie. I gotta see that one again.

here's a good review for those who haven't seen it.

-The Wraith- (1986)
Directed by Mike Marvin.

Must-see crap! A group of abusive, bizzare teenage thugs get their just-desserts when a strange angel of justice appears in the community in the form of...<drum roll>....Charlie Sheen, who occassionally transforms into a flight-suited, shotgun toting, vengance monger who drives a souped-up Dodge Interceptor. Overacting, underacting, and a dose of teenage sex and violence combine in this fabulous sci-fi crap fest. A cameraman actually died filming some of the dangerous stunt photography, which is admittedly pretty good.

rrrrrrrrrrrrighttttt. it's worth seeing. and it probably costs $1.99 to rent. you can't lose.

here's a cool link:

Ah, 80's crap. No collection is complete without at least some, and this movie is definately worth such an "honorable" distinction.

Them be fightin' words. No good car movies at all? What about Spielberg's directorial debut, Duel?

On a whole, I will say you're right, but nothing is without any exception at all. I highly recommend you see that movie if you're unfamiliar.

Ok, I'm being argumentative. I suppose that isn't entirely a car movie. But it is good. =)

ok settle down now kiddo's all modern day car movies are crap but if you look hard enough you'll find plenty of cool car movies out there. Most are low budget 80's flicks which were made by guys who knew nothing about movies and loved cars. Will hunt down a few and post em for ya.

OK here's a list of movies I suggest you go out and rent before you watch gone in 60 seconds or the fast and the furious ever again. Corvette Summer, Death Race 2000, Black Moon Rising, Vanishing Point, Two Lane Blacktop, The Driver, and Bullitt. My fav is Vanishing Point but any of these are better than modern day hollywood hyped garbage in theatres everywhere.

I FUCKING BEG TO DIFFER ABOUT THERE BEING NO GOOD CAR MOVIES!!

Granted, MOST are crap. However, what about "Tucker" subtitled "The Man And His Dream"? That was a phenomenal movie. And how about "Ronin"? About a robbery, but has some absolutely kick-ass racing sequences. AND guns and explosions!! Robert DeNiro's in it.

Go-o-od call on Tucker there, chicken dude. =) That movie is amazing, and very often overlooked as a "car" movie, even though that is precisely what it was. Nice catch.

And, to the person who said they'd rent Duel, nice move. You definately should. However, good luck finding it. It gets nowhere near the credit it deserves.

James Bond 0wnz j00

This was a Japanese Intelligence vehicle driven by Aki, a beautiful and resourceful agent. Concerning gadgetry, the Toyota featured a Sony closed circuit TV for communication with Japanese Intelligence head Tanaka. The car was capable of 143mph and in 1966 set records for speed and endurance. Toyota never manufactured a convertible version of the 2000GT, so built two especially for the film.

Sorry for the little picture, but I just rewatched this last weekend. That car is just f'n gorgeous. I'd also throw in that 40 years of movies featuring car chases is pretty cool
