J30 vlsd swap

So ive purchased an abs j30 vlsd for my s13. I swapped just the differential itself not the entire housing and everything due to my purchasing a nice one peice driveshaft for a non abs car earlier. So ive got backlash within spec and new side bearings installed and im having issues on fitment of the stub shafts.so has anyone else done this before? And which shaft did you use. the nissan shafts or the infiniti shafts. I currently have the infiniti shafts installed but one sticks out farther than normal and the other one goes in to far. Let me know what you guys think.thanks a lot

you have to use the infiniti shafts and one is a different length than the other so if its sticking out to far then you have it on the wrong side

Okay so im on the right track. I put the right side shadt in the right side and i did the same with the other. The right hand side is sticking out just a little bit more than the factory shaft did. Is that normal. I wish i could post a picture but the file size is to large. Do you have a second to talk on the phone?

http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=506967

after searching i found this. the s13 ring gear is smaller so it causes you to need to move the diff over to one side more which is why it causes it to stick out that little bit and the other to be to far in.

the pic def helped out because ithought it was sticking out way more. but seeing it stick out that little i knew something was wrong. i dont have experience with the j30 diff but thats the info that will help you out
