My new toy
Picked this up the other day, not sure weather I want to keep it and build it into a daily driver, or flip it and save myself from my wife. Car has a CA18DET with GT28 turbo, walburo fuel pump, unkown rails/injectors, Godspeed front mount intercooler. Body needs a little bit of love, rust free frame and strut towers. More mods to list as I examine the car.

Oh boy, a facepalm picture, how about I'm new at this and I didn't know the forum etiquette for picture threads. If you don't like the way I did this, ----> There is the door.

It's been tuned and dyno'd, not sure the peak hp, Engine was installed by JDM Elite with about 50k km on the motor. Unsure if it has been reinforced. Needs a clutch and a battery relocate. My wife is not happy about me dropping more money on it. I'd prefer to keep it, but if the boss say's it goes then I have to try and break even.

car looks like a drift missile. Should be perfect if that's what you intend to use it for. Otherwise, it will take a lot of work to make it look clean. +1 for new projects though.

I got approved for 1k to make it drivable, already got a pile of parts for 150. Only hard part will be a clutch. I'll have spent a total of 3 large total, so the closer I get it to what I want for a grand the better. Also, anyone have tips for the battery? I'm interested in relocating it, but would be willing to get a custom intercooler pipe on the passenger side.

Thanks Dreizm, I used to be a tech at Strauss and previous 240 owner, but any and all reminders help a lot (Sincere, not sarcastic). Made some progress, got three out of four wheels replaced, last one is stuck on by one lug, cheap-ass wheel locks stripped out. New mirrors wired in, and driver seat replaced with a charcoal S-14 seat. Picking up an S-13 passenger seat tomorrow, as well as swapping out the stock bumpers I picked up for ones that fit. I guess an unofficial sponsor is Rich at Northern Liberties Auto. He's been a big help for finding stock parts to make this thing an approximately 270 whp sleeper. I'll post some progress pics, I re-primered some spots that had red bleeding through, and cleaned up the interior. I hope some people are interested in this nonsense thread, unlike post # 3.

Update
Been a little bit since I've been able to post an update. Car starts and runs, just needs a clutch now. New gauges, bumpers and interior. Fixed some wiring issues with the CA18. Next step is to yank the engine and clean it up while I wait for the clutch.
Trying to find a way to host pictures currently. |
