Remote Start - Neutral Safety - R240NA and others help if you know please!

So I've go the Clifford Matrix rsx3.5 going in tomorrow. Security with Remote Start.

'93 SE hatch with sr20det

I know about bypassing the clutch safety switch.

Question is:
I know there's a neutral safety on the tranny. Can I wire the alarm into this signal, either at the tranny or near the ECU, so that the car won't start in gear?

I'm having the alarm installed, but off hand the installer (not familiar with 240's) didn't think it could be done on my car...he'll know what to do if I can briefly detail what works. I've searched, adn this oddly doesn't seem to be discussed? Everyone just says "remember not to leave your car in gear"...

I may go with another 2 way Clifford if this can't be done and save myself $100.

TIA

You can take the ground from the nuetral switch and run it as an 'interuptor' to the remote start.. just make it in-line with your remote start circuit so that if it isnt in nuetral the car will not recieve a PWR-ON signal to the ignition.

Neutral switch wire is green/orange, found at the ECU or coming through the ECCS plugs by the battery.
Note that this is not a 'neutral safety' wire and does not inhibit starting, it's only a switch to determine gear position. If your remote start has the input for a ground trigger to keep it from starting, you're fine.

It does - so It'll see ground only when in neutral, thus enabling start. The installer said he'd ground it in the engine bay, and let me run the wire where I wanted it to go...so It's on me to screw up...

Thanks a ton Russ and Dopefish. I'll look for it near the battery, if I can't find it , I'll splice in right at the tranny. LOL - hopefully I'll find it! I still need to wire in my fan over there anyways, get it off the fuel pump fuse

Now wishing I had wired my swap myself so I know what was what...

For future reference -

Neutral position switch is pinout #35 on the redtop ECU 1991-1996 (count left 5 slots from the top right corner),

And the F10 connector near the battery is a BROWN plug (with 8 pin slots). In both places look for the Green/Orange wire.

Installer called to tell me there's no ground signal emitting at the ECU location, come to think of it my reverse light haven't been working either.

This was swapped into a '90 Auto shell - converted to manual. Since I've swapped into a 1993 manual car. I wonder I the wiring is slightly different (when you wire and auto car vs. manual), so that I need to change the wiring when I swapped in the '93?

I should pull the whole harness and rewire myself - LOL...maybe when it's warmer out...

Auto cars won't have any neutral switch wiring unless the person who swapped it adds that portion in, and since it's not needed few people actually do it.
