I have a 1995 Nissan 240sx SE and it has power locks and stuff. It came with a key fob and I changed the battery for it earlier this week (was really lazy to change it sooner) anyway, when I press the unlock/ or lock key it only triggers on the passenger side. I can hear the clicking coming from under the dash near the driver side. I pulled the driver door panel off and I made little slits to test if there was power going to the actuator, and there was. I removed the actuator but when I tested it, it would work still sorta... it seemed moody. Before I go and buy a new door lock actuator from someone since they are discontinued, I wanted to be sure that, that was my problem there... and if so well I'm in search of one lol.

Does the driver electrical door lock/unlock work from the actual door switch?

so...…

when you push the button, you get a electrical signal TO the actuator, but the actuator doesn't actuate? yeah, i'd say ……….. its the actuator.

Nah, when I press the unlock/ lock on the electrical main button thingy on the door panel it dosent do anything, I figured it was the door lock actuator but I’m having trouble finding one atm

Welllllllll you need to do some testing. Is the switch outputting a signal or not? No point replacing the actuator if you don’t know if the switch is working.

Yeah I spliced into the wires that connected to the actuator, flipped the unlock/ lock switch, then it would read 12V when flipped. So since there was power going through and the actuator not flipping, I’m assuming it’s the actuator. I also took my passenger side door panel off and unplugged the actuator (since the passenger side worked) and plugged it into the driver side actuator and when I flipped the unlock/ lock it didn’t budge.

so...… now take the PASSENGERS side actuator, and plug it into the drivers side wiring harness. make sure that shit works. if it does, THEN just replace the actuator.

What happens if the passenger actuator dosent flip on the driver side plug :/, bad wiring then?

Then you know it’s NOT the actuator.
It’s either the switch or the wiring.
