Could it be the starter? (s13 redtop)

Whats up, The last few times I started started the car I heard a clicking noise and it was hesitant to start before it started. Today I tried to start the car and it wouldn't. When I turn the key all the power is ok and I hear fuel pump, however there is no more clicking and just nothing, not even a crank.

I tried to jump start it but that was futile because I already have power. Even trying to jump start it I didn't hear any clicking or anything.

BTW: s13 Redtop

Thanks, Joe

Yeah it's the starter. I just tapped it w/ a hammer and then it started right up. I shut the car off then tried to start it again and nothing so I had to tap it again and it started again. It's too damn cold out to be messing w/ this sh*t. Maybe I will brave the cold and take it out. I will bring it to a shop that does rebuilds and have it refreshed.

Hey Joe whats up its Frank from IFX..........your starter gear sounds like its hanging up on you. It could be just from the cold. If its possible, take it out and inspect the pinion gear, make sure it can move freely.

Franky Boy...long time no see or speak, good to hear from you. Yeah I'm going to remove it soon and see what condition it's in. It sucks because it's so damn cold out. What would stop the pinion gear from moving freely?
