SR clutch ?

hello real quick ?,while bleeding my clutch i noticed what seemed to be a check valve or something like that,it had a bleeder screw on it,what purpose does it serve, and is it nessasary since there is a bleeder screw on the slave cylinder,or can you bypass it and run a new line directly to the slave cylinder? thanks in advance........

many people refer to that as a damper box, FSM calls it a clutch tube, thats if you are talking about the one attached to the loop aft of the slave clyinder. im not sure anyone knows the real purpose of it, but everyone including myself have taken it out and i just used the existing line that ran into the t box inbetween and ran it straight to my slave with no problems.
