KA trans on SR

Does that work, I have a buddy that says they work. Would I just need to swap bellhousings over? Would this be stronger than the SR trans?

Thanks....

It works, have to change bellhousing, no stronger than sr. If you want stronger, go here http://www.mazworxracesupply.com/pro...dapter_kit.htm
and buy the z32 trans kit.

I have it and it is great.

But it comes with the driveshaft, still, I'd rather burn through 5 $100 KA transmissions....at least that money is spread over time...just my opinion, nice lookin kit though

Your call, but I don't have to worry about tranny failures or spend an afternoon swapping in another 100 tranny only to find out that it's shit too....

Replacing the syncro? No internal mods are necessary just bolt the gearbox up to the SR bellhousing.

Probably is, but it still works! Plus they're a dime a dozen, so I'm not gonna worry about it.....

afternoon? tranny change takes 30 mins w/ KAs SRs. ka a tad longer

the z32 one is nice for sure but not worth it, imo.
just buy extra transmissions.

you can fix gearing diferences w/ a final drive swap. 4.3!
unless u shell out for OS GIKEN, then 4.6

It's RWD so 4th is always 1:1. I can't imagine it being changed too much since the final drives were almost all the same.

[QUOTE=Dousan_PG]afternoon? tranny change takes 30 mins w/ KAs SRs. ka a tad longer - was just a generic term not meant to reflect the actual amount of time required to swap a trans as this number varies from individual to individual-

the z32 one is nice for sure but not worth it, imo.
just buy extra transmissions. - for the street if you'd like, for competition not so much.... you have to finish to win. But yeah, it comes down to personal preference and priorities, mine put function and performance first, then looks, jdm coolness and perfectly stretched tires on perfectly flush wheels a distant last. I write this because many on this site would likely balk at the price but be perfectly content to pay more for non functional aero or compromised tire to road interface, so it's not directed at anyone in paticular-

you can fix gearing diferences w/ a final drive swap. 4.3!
unless u shell out for OS GIKEN, then 4.6]- all three of the mentioned trannies have almost identical gearing-[/QUOTE
