Hoses

2 part Question:

I have a hose leaking, the one coming from my power steering fluid resivore and running to somewhere, What kind of hose is that? Can I replace it? Is there a part number?

Second, I want to cut my upper radiator dose in order to install a temp gauge adapter. What is the best way to do this?

Thanks

There are Two Hoses coming off of Power Steering Reservoir. A Suction Line and a Return. Part Nos. are 49717-70f00 and 49725-70f00 respectively. Cost $28.91 and $27.92. Dealerships have Diagrams so they can tell you which one you will need, I just got finished replacing both. For cutting your Hose you can just get a Hacksaw Blade for like 2 Dollars from any Hardware Store.

What kind of car is this?

For the temp sender, you'll need an adaptor that goes in between the hose if you don't already have one. Just use a sharp knife and use a hose clamp as a template to help you start the cut. Take off about 1" or so and fit the adaptor in between.

This is an S13.

I believe the upper radiator hose is 37mm but couldn't I use a 1' 1/2" adapter from autometer?

A hacksaw huh? That wouldn't fray up the hose? I'll give it a try.

I'm actually installing a Oil psi, oil temp, water temp and replacing the PS resevoir hose this weekend. I'm useing a Greddy filter adapter to run the oil gauges. Is it cool to connect the pressure sender direct or should I have it remotely mounted?

Thanks for the part #.

I wonder if it is possible to use a OEM water temp sensor from the 89 240sx to mount my water temp gauge?

You know the one located on the lower rad hose. Its got a temp sensor attached to a small pipe.

Instead of the OEM hoses for the PS, find some 3/8" and 5/8" oil resistant hose. You'll need about two feet of each. Should be about $6.00 total. I used Aeroquip FC662 hose from a local hose supply company.
