I currently have DT05r's, 16" X 7.5(front) & 8.5(back). They are all wrapped in Falken ST115 225/50/16. My back tires are now bald and I know that I shouldn’t really squeeze 225 on the back again cause 225 is for 7.0-8.0 rim width VS 8.5. I am not to sure what do go with(size/brand) I was thinking something around a 245/45 either in some Hankook Ventus R-S2 or some G-Force Sport but I don’t know. Any Ideas? |

225 feels pretty good, I am running a KA so I don’t have too much power to get over steer but I like them, But I just think rim wise, 245 will fit alittle better………I am just hopping it wont rub the wheel well on a gruesome turn!!

Well if you like the way it feels now with the 225s, you probably won't like it with the bigger tire. It will make you understeer more. Don't worry about the way it fits more than the way it feels to drive!

for grip, got RS-2 all around...or if u get the pricing, go with the RT-615 (comparable pricing with the hankooks in most places). RT's will pwn anything.
drift, put RT's in front and ST's in back....or any shit tire in back, really, since it's just smoke waiting to happen |

The Hankooks you are looking at are very different from the ST-115s. I don't recomend that for anything but drift. If you are going to have one tire set way more sticky than the other, make it the front. You could just move the ST-115s to the rear and put the Hankooks up front.
What I would do if I where you, its put the ST-115s on the rear wheels and put a new set up front. ST-115s or something similar. I really like the Cooper Zeon 2XS, but I am sure you can tell I am biased. |

Thanks for the advise guys, I am actually checking out the cooper tires right now on the web site, they look pretty sweet, the only thing I am alittle concerned about is that 225/50 is recommended for 7.0-8.0 inch rims and I am at 8.5 so I think I should be fine?

It will be fine. Better even, the rim will help stretch the side wall just a bit for a nice solid feeling.
I get my Coopers from this website, good prices: https://www.tiresavings.com/tireShop...season=Regular I have only ever tried the 2XS, so I can't say anything about other Cooper tires. |
