well for reasons out of my control i am going to be selling my present 240. its 91 5-speed, with 70,000 miles on it. Now the question is i am going to have around 6 grand sitting around. would it be possible to buy another 240 and do a sr swap under 6 grand? i am looking for a direct swap, stock intercooler and all. also on another note how well do the 300zx's handle in the twisties? what do they run stock in the mile?

Yes it's possible to do it under 6000. I'll assume u mean Z32 300zx....The Z32 300ZX handles well but won't feel as tossable in a corner as a S13. And what model 300zx n/a or TT in the mile (a mile is pretty far)

Yea it can be done. It also depends on who and how much you are gettin the install for.

Though I still have a lot of work on misc parts etc but I'm still way under 6k with the cost of the car, clip and install.

while we're talking about SR20's...I just bought a 72 Datsun 240Z and I am wanting to do an SR swap into it. Does anyone know what kind of problems could arise? and where is the best place to get SR20DET's?

That would be SICK! You could probably fit an RB26DETT in that bad boy. *drools*

Well, while we're on the subject of swaps, does anyone know how to get an engine (or better yet, front clip) if you don't live near a shop that can get one? How much shipping would be etc... I'm looking for a CA, so I'm sure it will be harder to find a local shop that can get one. I'm going to be doing the install with a friend of mine. I've got access to everything I need, so that won't be a problem, it's just getting the engine (and getting a ride from my mom to work while it's being done )
