I have a redtop sr20det with a stock turbo. I was out drag racing the other night and the next day my turbo started making a weird noise. At first you hear the normal turbo whistle. Then it will make a weird howl noise for just a sec. It is real weird. I think my turbo seals are going out because there is some oil in the compressor intake and hotpipe. Anyone have any ideas? I still build boost and the car drives the same.

Really? If i blew it wouldnt the car be running like shit? The car still runs strong.

Keep driving it and it'll run like crap sooner rather then later.

It sounds like the centersection crapped out and is spitting oil.

It doesn't smoke? o.O

when i first got my SR put in, the turbo boosted fine, felt decent, and for a all stock motor it was LOUD. 2 days later it freaking sucks, slow as hell. take off turbo, oil everywhere.

i think ive figured it out. Earlier when i took off i saw something fall out from under my car. I turned around and turns out it was one of the locking plates from the turbine housing. Its missing two nuts. i think thats where i am getting the howling sound from...

Ah. That sounds like it could do it. The oil still troubles me but... meh.

Get a new gasket and bolts and put it back on and see how that works out for you.
