im been searching all night and its like 3am lol i cant get a solid answer on this question i have..ive been seeing things that say once u take the hub nut off any s13s hubs (because im in the middle of a 5 lug swap) ur supposed to replace it with a new nut because the nut isnt good anymore? and i saw that as well for the dust cover. i was kinda confused about this and i want to do my 5 lug swap accordingly so it comes out perfect with no problems down the road..im using 5 lug attain up front thats a direct bolt on and s14 rear hubs that is also a bolt on..lemme know what you guys think get back i would apperciate any thoughts or comments..

use the same nut, change the pin.
take off the dust sheild if you go z brakes or cut it.

Yeah there is, its just covered by the cap. Don't re-use the cotter pins, get new ones -- I couldn't find the same size ones so I got smaller ones and used 2 since they were much thinner than the stock ones.

Also, if you plan a big brake upgrade --- pop the dust shields off now while the hub is off. They take a min to wedge off -- they'll bend a lot before giving way but they won't break, at least mine didn't. Friend popped them off for me before putting the new hubs on.

I did the swap like 3 months ago... don't forget to torque the nut down afterward. Wait, don't forget to torque everything down to spec afterwards.

Hey ther quick question. I am doing the same thing but I don't wanna buy the wrong socket. I wonder what size is the Bolt for the hub is it a 32mm?

You should get spare cotter pins because chances are you will break it when you remove it.

The hub nut (not bolt) is 32mm. Soak overnight with PB Blaster. Remove the center cap from the wheel if possible, pry off the dust cover, put the front wheels on the car, tighten the lug nuts, and lower the front end on the ground. Make sure you pull the handbrake, leave the car in gear, and chock the wheels. It will help stabilise the car when you break loose the nut if you don't have impact tools.

Since S13s are old, I highly recommend everything you remove if possible since the old parts are usually damaged from age and use. You should also check out your wheel bearings, tie rods, lower transverse link, and your knuckle spindle. If any of these things are damaged now is the time to replace them.

You can slice off the dust shield or remove it completely if you're doing big brakes later on.

Go to zeroyon.com and download an FSM. It will have info for you.
