He didn't say stock KA, he said KA.

I want an oil cooler for my KA, so I'm interested in people's responses as well.

Ebay pops up with them once in a while.. a "kit".

Hello try SUMMIT or JEGS most all oil coolers are a universal thing . You will need to get the needed fittings depending on how you set it up.

A sandwhich adapter is the key part. Then, its just the core and the lines.

the FC cooler is 4.5" x 2" x 19.75" according to what i read on rx7club

the real reason im thinking of using one is b/c its practically free. i know alot of rotary guys, and there's a ton of them lying around since every FC had one, including the base sport model n/a's. (i think... not sure).

So off of a FC would be fine then, Wouldnt new Earls AN fittings be a big plus too. I would like to go that route off of a junk yard FC but I'll be in the dark on how to install it.

i got one right behind the I/C. mounted on the condensor.

kind of hard to see. but the oil hoses are going through the area that the A/C line comes through.

i used a sandwhich adaptor with a ford thread. if you buy the universal summit kit they give you about 4 different fittings. i used barb fittings instead of -AN fittings. fittings cost me about $6. works great so far.

you can kind of see the top part of the cooler through the grill.

Thats a cool setup you got there, Id personally like to see something custom like that but on a KA24E yeah I know its a crappy engine but an oilcooler is a big plus for all engine to prevent overheatet situations.

Getting an oil cooler won't hurt, plus you will have extra ports for either oil sending and feeds. Conventional if you plan on turboing in the future, versus tapping into the oil pan.

mocal sells a 180deg thermostat sandwhich adaptor. i think they go for like $75.

you need the 3/4"-16 thread adaptor for ka24de. if you don't want to use the thermostat then you can get the summit one. they are like $20. i'll take pics of my sandwhich tomarrow.

You guys are putting to much thought into this. Three words, Advance Auto Parts. The Performance bar and plate oil cooler is $65. I had the trans cooler and oil cooler on my talon, and both were from Advance. Both kept the temps LOW!!!! My automatic trans never got above 150 degrees. A bar and plate cooler is a bar and plate cooler. I believe it's 12x12x1, I THINK!!!!! Just go check it out before you spend over 100 bucks.
