Try pulling out the plug wires one at a time while the motor is running. If you pull one and the idle doesn't change, chances are that one is misfiring. Since it only shakes once and a while during idle, my first thought is that there may be condensation interfering with the connection between the plug and wire. If you have any water in there it can cause the exact things you’re describing.

fuel filter and fuel injector service. cheveron fuel injector cleaner is pretty good fromwhat i hear. run a couple of those through your gas tank and change your fuel filter. check your air filter to see if its dirty or needs to be replaced or cleaned. clean your mafs, clean throttle body, ect. sounds like you need a bit of a tune up.

ill try the plugs tommarow and is the chevron thing something you put in with the gas or is it an actual filter. my engine bay is really clean and i think that the spark plugs are new but ill check tommarow.

the cheveron thing is a fuel additive that cleans your fuel injectors. you put in in your gas tank. id do a couple of em. you can also go to home depot, get some xylene (1gal) $11 dump it into your gas tank with about 8-10 gal of regular fuel, with a capful of ATF oil so you dont dryout your seals and o-rings. that should help too.

Whens the last time the car was serviced? Give her a good tune up and she'll love you for it.

EVERYTIME a mechanic touches my car, something goes wrong. I can only trust myself to do major things like full tune ups, head gaskets, blocks, timing, ect.

Take it back to him and tell him whats going on and see what he says..24miles to a 3rd of a tank sucks man. better yet, sell me your car for 1k and be done with it :x jk

oh, check your plugs, im pretty sure you're running really rich. if you're not, you gotta be leaking fuel somewhere, or its evaporating somehow. and you have to check FUEL PRESSURE. do a search and find out what the specs are for your car. bare with me on the double posts, i cant edit.

Check the basics, fuel filter, Plugs, plug wires air filter, cap, rotor, pcv, o2 censer, and check the wire harness to the o2, that will cause it to back fire.

Have you eliminated EGR? My Evap vapor purge is still open and I haven't removed the box. For that reason I still smell fuel in my interior. I've gotten used to it.

remove the box, or re-route the line..

Or, if you can't figure out the issue... read or take it to someone who knows what's up.
