You should give it to me! I'm serious too.... I mean, you're a cop, you make plenty of money ripping people off while driving, don't you? Just joking.

You know what I"ll say... "KA". I think it would be worth it. However, you'll probably spend the whole 2000 just on the timing chain and some new pistons and rings . Would you do the timing chain yourself?

Well, the dealer will charge you some $800-$1000 depending on what is being done. It takes a long while to do this. However, I copied the whole procedure out of a Nissan Service Manual (Technician's copies) that we have here in the dealership, but I don't have a scanner. If you want, I can make more copies and send it to you and you can decide if you can do this yourself or not... I think it's an expensive job. If it's not too bad, don't do it...

It's only expensive b/c it takes a long time to do it, and its pretty technically challenging. Most the guys I've heard do it themselves, say they wouldn't do it again. They say the same thing about the clutch.
