rod knock what next?

ok so I do have a rod knock in number 2 cylinder. its not that loud and smoothes out. I havnt got it all apart yet to see how bad it is. if its not to terribley bad. what is the probability of having to machine the crank and get new rods? could i just put new bearings in it and be alright?

if your actually concerned about rebuilding THAT motor, stop driving it.

Either way, you will need to have the crank AT LEAST honed, but more than likely machined. Anything over 10 over, isn't prefered for performance. The longer the knock occurs, the more damage to internal parts....JMO. What i'm trying to get at, is it will be more than just replacing one bearing and calling it a day...

I havnt drivin it more than 30ft after it happend. pulled the motor out today and if I tear into it and there is no visible damage would it be safe to put new bearings in or should I have it machined anyways? I say this because it is a very lite knock and I havent drivin it at all. the knock goes away after a second or two.
