Rebuilding a KA motor?

I have never rebuilt a car motor before and the price for rebuilding motors at a shop is insanely high. The only tools I have at home is a cherry picker and tools needed to attach/unattach bolts and nuts for now. I was wondering if there is a website where I can order rebuilding motor parts and the steps to perform the rebuild?

You didn't specify which year, so I aimed for the middle ground.

get a fsm, get a bin.... take the head off.......

follow the fsm i honestly say read the em section 3x over, keep all the parts numbered 1-4... get a micrometer in and out, get a engine stand.... get a parts washer...start following the fsm in taking apart the block. make sure... u keep everything numbered....would be wise to get a number punch set..

maybe ill do a write up, when i rebuild my block....

Infinitexsound is a very wise man, take his advice.
You can also get a shit load of zip lock bags as well. Label the zip lock bags to describe where the bolts came from. Mark bolts using whiteout, mark it in dots to describe what number from pattern so that it would be easy to put back together.

i'll be cheaper to swap a lower mileage engine. But IF you're up for a task. Which i'd HIGHLY suggest having someone who knows what they're doing by you. Go for it. Good learning experience.

Some of these can be a bit spendy, especially for a novice:
http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...ek-nissan.html
http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...roducts_id=303
http://www.rpmmachine.com/enginerebu...nissantop.html
http://www.nizzx.com/
http://www.hybridka.com/

... I searched and found those, I suggest you go that route from here forward

thanks! ^^

OK, after reading the guide, it says that I should only use OEM parts or bolts [I'm going to assume that I can use the same bolts that I took out]. Where can I get the OEM Nissan handbook guide? Or FSM.

Btw, can anyone list the parts that I need to rebuild the whole motor? And what specific tools do I need when taking out bolts and such? The guide did not mention it and I just want to make sure of it when I order the rebuilding kit.

BOO on the sr!!!! I've actually decided to save my money on an HRT N/A built block 10.5:1 setup. All I have to do is install it. Also install the scraper and windage tray... Don't have a garage anymore........ But ehh just kidding about the sr, if you like it it's meant for JOO!!!
