boosting problem?

Just did a sr motor swap...and i got it running its good...i just installed a boost gauge to one of the vaccum lines...and its reading only 4.5 psi when its full throttle. is it possible that the internal wastegate is set. Also where does the wastegate hose go connected to? could that be the problem that is not boosting right?....help please.

thanx

The wastegate actuator hose needs to see pre-throttle-body charge pressure. On a stock SR, i would go off the cold pipe. If you don't have a sidemount, i would go off the port on the bottom of the throttle body.

You should be seeing more than 4.5 psi. Is your exhaust restricted in any way? Also make sure your boost gauge isn't leaking.
