megan racing exhaust manifold

anyone running the megan exhuust manifold.how do you like it?is it durable?what type of turbo and hp are getting from it with ur set up?

All those manifolds (Megan, SSAutochrome, XSPower) are all made by the same companies in China. It's kind of a crap shoot. Some people have had REALLY bad luck with them cracking prematurely. My two brothers & myself have all used them with zero problems though. I had mine Jet-Hot ceramic coated & it's helped keep my underhood temps down drastically compared to just running the stainless manifold, as well as not rusting over the past 2 years of use. I believe that most of the people who have problems with them are from not properly supporting their exhaust system, as well as whacking their exhausts into things from being too low, etc. Here's what mine looked like with ceramic coating when new, and after two years of use.

Im running MR, only gripe I got bout it is mine started to look faded. But honestly im surprised on how long it has lasted and no cracks or leaks. My car is so low that i constantly slam on my downpipe putting extra pressure on the manifold. I expected it to have some kind of crack or damage after i hit my exhaust hard enough that i broke the studs off my turbo elbow.

thanx for the info i guess ill prolly go ahead and get it but keep extra cash incase somethign goes wrong .i plan on trying 2 get 400hp, iv seen kaaza in the new trubo or super street with 400 so i guess its ok plus i dont really plan 2 drift.

What turbo do you intend to use? Getting 400 RWHP with a bottom mount isn't as easy as it sounds...trust me! A lot of the bigger hybrids to come out in the last few years that claim to be able to support over 400 usually fall shy & have excessive lag. The best I was able to get out of a GT25R (aka GT2540R) .86 AR with the T-04S cover was 390 with 264 cams, Trust Intake, Q45 throttlebody, 850cc Sards, Z32 mafs setup blow through inside my piping, UR crank & underdrive pulleys, electric fans, full exhaust, Splitfire ignition, great street tune and 1.4 boost. You may want to consider going top-mount...I'm in the middle of the switch right now myself!

yea i wanted around 400hp.i planned to use the gt24r or gt2871r. if u think its easyer with a top mount i will consider that.what turbo and what manifold do you plan to use to get 400hp?

I'm in the middle of upgrading, however my new goal is 500 RWHP at under 1.4 boost. Here's the manifold & turbo I'm using.

Full-Race GT3567R



I had to change the mounting flange on the manifold & send it out to Jet-Hot to get ceramic coated. The GT3567R I ordered from Full-Race is based on the Garrett GT35R (aka GT3540R) modified with Full-Race's T-67 compressor, which really isn't a T67 but similar to a T-04R. It's very new to the market, but is capable of supporting 700 RWHP with the exact same spoolup as a GT35R!!! For a GOOD 400 RWHP top mount setup, I'd go with the GT30R for quick spool. Or you can save a load of cash with a non-ball bearing type.
