Anyone run whitelines on a S14 with 8/6 springs?
Looking to balance out the car a bit...seems a little oversteer happy full stiff front and rear on my white lines. Going to swap to the middle setting.
Anyone know something else to try first. Thanks

Go back to the stock rear bar.
Seriously. I battled this FOREVER last year, and finally decided to swap parts, one at a time (I have Tein HE's, Whiteline bars). I had tried ALL the adjustments to the anti-roll bars, stock and the Whiteline endlinks, alignment, staggered tires (235/255 instaed of 245/245)etc...everything. Swapped back to the stock rear bar...and it's oh so perfect now. I was reluctant, since "it's an upgrade, it must be better"...but I got over that, mad ethe change, and I'm super happy that I did. The car's close to perfectly balanced now, as neutral as you can get. I can still oversteer with throttle (on demand), and hang the back end out as much as I like...but I'm not fighting it anymore (no snap oversteer). My cars faster at autocross and on road courses...and easier to drive. Hopefully it's the answer to your issue as well. - Brian

So, the rear whiteline anti-roll bar is too stiff? Seems odd. Orion: What spring rates are you running? Alkemyst: I would try to change the setting on rear bar to softer (the rear is adjustable right?) to see if the desired effect is within adjustment range first, before you swap bars.

Thats interesting. I have had Tein HEs and Whitelines forever, front full stiff and rear middle. My car has always been a little oversteer prone, but not crazy. Easy to drive mostly, but slow tight corners I had to watch it and it was obvious I could be going faster. I have way more power now as I have recently finished KA-T and now my car feels like it oversteers way too easy. First thing I am going to try is to fix my rear camber -3 degrees down to -2. If that does not fix it, then I will loosen the sway bar to the loosest setting.
Thanks for the info orion |

JIC A1, Whiteline bars. I run full hard on front bar, full soft on the rear bar. The car is pretty neutual. I guess what you need to do is
1. Adjust Toe (More toe-in at the back or less toe-in in the front) 2. Adjust Camber (More camber at the back or less camber in the front) |

They remove/flatten body roll, which removes grip from one end or another. So you use them to tune balance, not gain more grip...and especially when you already have reduced body roll b/c of stiffer springs. Quote:

As an aside, I was looking at some sway bar specs and noticed that the OE S14 front bar is 27.2mm, and the whiteline S14 front bar is 27mm. So other than the slight variance in stiffness due to the adjustable endlink mounting points, just using the whiteline front bar should yield balance very close to stock, correct?

Oh, I assumed they were both hollow. I guess if the wall thicknesses are different that will affect it somewhat, but it's really the outer diameter that's key (I believe the stiffness ia a function of the fourth power of the overall diameter, could be mistaken though). Anyways, the front is very close to stock while the rear is a huge jump over the diameter of the stock piece. Perhaps they did that to try to dial out some of the understeer that standard 8/6 coilovers add to the system?
