My 90 240 has been backing firing? What are the causes and solutions to this problem? Help please?

When is it backfireing?  When you let off the gas I guess?  Any smoke?

Also, please come up with a more creative topic title than "question".  Try "car is backfireing...what to do?" or something like that.

it back fires all the time. No specific time
