No the heads aren't interchangable. Only other car with the KA24DE that I can think of is the Altima.

hmm alrite.... so the only way to fix this '90 240sx head problem is to get another SOHC...?

How much do the heads go for anyways? or should I just get a complete KA24DE? Are the trannys interchangable from the KA24D and the KA24e?

Thanks
Ken

think it might be worth it for him to get a ka24de if he's going to replace the engine? I'm not sure how much heads go for, but i'm pretty sure a used ka is fairly cheap.

I have a "rebuilt" SOHC head that I'll sell for US$100 + shipping from Kansas City, MO. It came with a '90 240 I bought for parts (it hadn't been installed, yet). The head has no camshaft or rocker arms. The intake valves appear to be new, the exhaust valves appear to be original. The gasket mating surface has been machined flat, and I'd expect that a valve job has been performed, though I have no idea how many angles. Valve seals may have been replaced. Basically, the previous owner sent it out to be rebuilt, then decided to buy another car. Unfortunately, the engine was in about a hundred pieces, and many things, such as the camshaft, were missing. I threw out (literally) everything remaining of the engine, except for the head. Email me if interested: [email protected].

And, yes, the trannies are interchangeable among all 240s throughout the entire production run.

If you currently have a SOHC head, then you have everything you need to make mine complete.

Here is what you'll get:

No gaskets. Shipping cost depends on weight and how you want it shipped, I guess. I'll weigh it tomorrow, so then you can get a better idea.

I'm reading this late, and I'm real sleepy. I'll get back to you tomorrow. Sorry for the delays.
